Este 21 de septiembre ay\u00fadanos a compartir informaci\u00f3n clara y confiable para cuidarte y cuidar a los tuyos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el Alzheimer y por qu\u00e9 se conmemora?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El Alzheimer es una enfermedad neurodegenerativa y la causa m\u00e1s frecuente de demencia. Produce cambios progresivos en la memoria, el pensamiento y la conducta; no es parte normal del envejecimiento. Su impacto alcanza a la persona, a su familia y a la comunidad, por lo que acompa\u00f1ar con informaci\u00f3n, respeto y apoyo oportuno es fundamental. <br><br>Cada 21 de septiembre se promueve la conciencia y la acci\u00f3n informada, con el objetivo de derribar estigmas y acercar el diagn\u00f3stico, el tratamiento y el acompa\u00f1amiento adecuados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prevenci\u00f3n y reducci\u00f3n del riesgo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Prevenir no significa tener todas las respuestas hoy, significa cuidar tu salud d\u00eda a d\u00eda con peque\u00f1os y grandes cambios. La salud cerebral se fortalece cuando te mueves con regularidad, controlas la presi\u00f3n arterial, previenes y manejas la diabetes, atiendes la p\u00e9rdida auditiva y usas aud\u00edfonos cuando corresponde, no fumas, limitas el alcohol, mantienes un peso saludable, duermes bien y sigues una buena  alimentaci\u00f3n.<br><br>Tambi\u00e9n ayuda mantener la mente activa y nutrir la vida social. Visitar al doctor para chequeos peri\u00f3dicos, revisar la memoria cuando hay dudas y ajustar tratamientos es parte esencial de la prevenci\u00f3n. Observa con calma si hay cambios que interfieren con la vida diaria: olvidos frecuentes de citas o pagos, mayor dificultad para planificar o resolver problemas, problemas para completar tareas conocidas, confusi\u00f3n con fechas o lugares, dificultad para encontrar palabras, extrav\u00edo de objetos y dificultad para seguir los pasos para hallarlos, disminuci\u00f3n del buen juicio, retraimiento social, o cambios en el estado de \u00e1nimo o la personalidad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No todas las personas presentan los mismos signos y su presencia no siempre implica Alzheimer; sin embargo, si varios de estos cambios aparecen y se repiten en el tiempo, conversa con tu m\u00e9dico de confianza para una evaluaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica. Una consulta oportuna ayuda a identificar causas tratables, orientar cuidados y, de ser necesario, iniciar un plan de apoyo a tiempo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">C\u00f3mo involucrarnos como ciudadanos<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Construir comunidades m\u00e1s comprensivas es tarea de todos.
