During this month, educational campaigns, mobilizations, and community efforts increase to help people understand the risks and available screening methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>October includes specific awareness days:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>October 13: Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day, to recognize the challenges faced by those with advanced disease.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>October 17 to 23: Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week. Although less common, breast cancer can also affect individuals with male anatomy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rrisks, detection and warning signs | Breast Cancer Awareness Month<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Warning signs not to ignore<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A lump or thickening in the breast or underarm area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changes in the shape, size or symmetry of the breast.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Skin changes like dimpling, redness, retraction or an orange peel texture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nipple changes: inversion, bloody discharge or persistent crusting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Persistent pain, swelling or a sensation of warmth in the area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Are you at risk?
